BUSINESS PROFILE

Herlev is home to small and large businesses in a wide range of industries. Many of the municipality's 17,000 workplaces are within manufacturing areas such as metal, electronics and measuring equipment.

The wholesale and life science sectors, too, are strongly represented in the municipality. The life science sector is dominated by Herlev University Hospital and ultrasound specialist B-K Medical. Herlev University Hospital is one of the most specialised and modern hospitals in the country. Herlev is also home to many smaller life science companies.

Inciting diversity and progress
Herlev municipality's ambition is to attract many new companies across a wide range of businesses. Since 2005, urban planning has been adapted in to facilitate service and knowledge intensive businesses. Life science businesses continue to enjoy excellent location possibilities in the municipality close to Herlev University Hospital.

We prioritise engagement in constructive dialogue with new and existing businesses in the municipality in order to further strengthen our attractive position. We are centrally located close to major roads, and Copenhagen airport and trains to Copenhagen are easily accessible. Our location is attractive in relation to the well-educated groups in the region who have easy access to Herlev.

Herlev's major business park has recently undergone a modernisation process. The municipality and local business are working closely together on further improvements, including plans for traffic and green areas, as well as an ideas book for architecture and design.

Herlev municipality promotes start-ups, finances consulting and training, and has a business park for small companies -all part of a strategy to create a varied business life and extended competence base in the area.
