Danish transport giant to acquire Belgium company for EUR 750 million

Danish transport group DSV is to buy Belgium group ABX Logistics for EUR 750 million, thereby creating a group which in 2007 had a total turnover of EUR 6.5 billion.
The DSV group has agreed the acquisition of shares in XB Luxembourg Holdings, the parent company of ABX Logistics. The sellers are 3i Group and 3i funds, together with other shareholders. The sale price is EUR 750 million and the new group will have a turnover of EUR 6.5 billion.
Comments DSV's CEO Kurt K. Larsen in the company's press release: "It is with great pleasure that we have succeeded in uniting ABX and DSV. The match between the two organisations is almost ideal, both geographically and in respect of activities."
ABX Logistics achieved consolidated revenues of EUR 1.8 billion in 2007 and employs 8,000 staff. The group is active in 100 countries with own offices in 37.
The largest fixed value in the group is its 750,000 m² of warehouses spread around the world.
